- Description
- Potential Sources Sought. This is not an RFP. The Federal Highway Administration is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for a new materials testing contract for the Long Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) program. The new materials testing contract will include resilient modulus testing on asphalt cores using the P07 testing protocol developed for LTPP. The objective of this testing is to receive and catalog cores and determine bulk specific gravity on samples. The new testing contract will also require resilient modulus testing on unbound materials from the designated Specific Pavement Study (SPS) test sites using the LTPP P46 testing protocol. This incidental testing shall include moisture content, sieve analysis, hydrometer analysis, Atterberg limits, classifications and moisture-density relations. Information concerning the LTPP P07 and P46 testing protocols may be found at http://www.tfhrc.gov/pavement/ltpp/resource.htm (data collection items 11 and 12). The planned period of performance for this contract is 60 months. The Federal Highway Administration anticipates awarding a sole source contract for this effort to Braun Intertec Corporation, 6875 Washington Ave, South, Minneapolis, MN 55439-1500. Any interested firms should submit sufficient information which will permit evaluation of technical capabilities in writing to Federal Highway Administration, Office of Acquisition Management (HAAM) (Attn: Ms. Amy Kruger, HAAM-20C), Room 4410, 400 7th Street, SW, Washington DC 20590. For questions concerning this announcement contact Ms.Kruger at 202-366-4233. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract nor does the government intend to directly pay for any information or responses submitted as the result of this solicitation. See Notes 22 and 25.
