- Description
- On April 18-19, 2001, AFCEA International will host its annual Spring Intelligence Symposium at the Central Intelligence Agency, Langley, VA. Under the leadership of LTG Patrick M. Hughes, USA (Ret.), former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, the symposium theme will be " Leadership and Technology for the U.S. Intelligence Community: New Horizons." The Honorable George J. Tenet, Director of Central Intelligence, is the confirmed keynote speaker. The first day of the symposium will be dedicated to examining macro policy issues associated with the strategic direction of the IC and related technology matters. Senior leaders from DoD, Congress, the IC, and government R&D agencies will discuss the challenges they see facing the Community in the next decade, their visions for meeting those challenges, and the role technology will play in improving IC effectiveness. On the second day, the symposium focus will shift from policy to implementation. Senior R&D executives from government laboratories and industry will provide their insights on what technologies they see impacting the IC and how those capabilities can be acquired. We are hoping to close the symposium with a senior national security advisor from the Bush Administration. For more information on the symposium including Gen Hughes' welcome; a detailed agenda; a listof confirmed speakers; fees, directions, and general information; and secure on-line registration, click here: http://www.afcea.org/spring2001/default.htm.
