Description

The work consists of furnishing all plant (including floating plant, labor, materials and equipment, for replacing the structural bracing of lower girder and painting five (5) tainter gates at the John H. Overton Lock and Dam in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Principal features of the work included replacing the bracing of the lower girder on each gate and replacing with new structural tubing; removing the cathodic protection anodes and replacing with new anodes; removing, storing, reinstalling and adjusting the j-bulb seals, bottom seals, seal support angles, debris deflectors and fasteners; protecting hoist cables, operating machinery and control panels from sand blasting and painting; removing and disposing of existing paint; sand blasting the gates and struts arm to white metal, painting with vinyl zinc-rich primer and vinyl paint to Corps of Engineers specifications 5-E-Z, and performing environmental protection. The estimated value of the proposed work is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.
