Background "UPDATE: EFFECTIVE 16 MARCH 2001 The WPAFB SABER solicitation is released effective 16 Mar 01. A pre-proposal conference will be held on 26 Mar 2001 at 12:00 EST in Building 230, Wright Patterson AFB. The purpose of this conference is to answer questions and to conduct a scope walk for the SABER Demonstration project. See solicitation clause L-312 for registration details. Proposals for this acquisition are due at 4:00 PM on 16 April 2001. SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION OF BASE ENGINEERING REQUIREMENTS (SABER) This requirement is being set aside as a national 8(a) competitive acquisition. Interested 8(a) concerns should, as early as possible, register to receive the solicitation. The point of contact for this solicitation is Lt. Brian Quinn (brian.quinn@wpafb.af.mil, (937) 257-4844 x4125). This acquisition is for a broad range of maintenance, repair, and minor construction work on real property at Wright-Patterson AFB and its associated sites. The WPAFB SABER requirements are required in support of 88 ABW/CED, Base Civil Engineer (BCE) activities. The resulting contract will be an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity type contract and will include a wide variety of individual construction tasks as identified in the Unit Price Book (UPB) for this contract. Each delivery order issued under the SABER contract will be firm fixed price.
