Description

The US Dept of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center, is planning to negotiate a sole source contract with Apollo Telemedicine to provide upgrades to the Apollo telepathology system currently in use at 7 VA Medical Centers in Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan. This includes a microscope upgrade and 8 telepathology platform ugrades. This is considered to be a sole source because only the Apollo system has a dynamically remote-controlled microscope which permits a remote user to move up and down and in and out on a pathology slide. Also, since this is an upgrade to an existing system, it must be compatible with that system and not impair standardization through these 7 medical centers. Other sources that believe they can meet VA needs must furnish product information and references to this office by no later than 4:30 PM on March 28, 2001.
