The U.S. Secret Service (USSS) has a requirement for Guidance Encase software and related training. The USSS intends to negotiate and award on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 with Guidance Software, Inc. Guidance Software is sole source and proprietary vendor of Encase software. There are no authorized resellers of Encase software. This sole source request for quotations is issued under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 for the following items: Item 1)Forty (40) hours of Encase forensic computer software training to include hands on training in all functions of the software, simulation evidence exercises. Instruction cost to include all training materials, manuals, training software, and travel and perdiem for instructors. Training to be conducted at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia on the following dates: May 11-15, 2001; June 22-26, 2001 and August 17-21, 2001. Item 2)Forty three (43) copies of Encase V2.0 Professional edition software including manuals and cables; Item 3) Twenty nine (29) copies of Encase V2.0 standard edition upgrades to professional edition including manuals and cables. Shipment of software is FOB destination Glynco, Georgia. Offer must include a signed copy of the Representations and Certifications (FAR 52.212-3) and Veteran'Reporting Requirements with the offer. Quotes shall be mailed or faxed to the following address: US Secret Service, Procurement Division, 950 H Street, Suite 6700, Washington, DC 20373 by Friday March 23, 2001. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive offers. No formal solicitation package is available. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in responding to this notice. Award is anticipated within thirty days. See Note 22. Note 22 is amended to read five (5) days in lieu of 45 days.
