Description

The Dahlgren Division, NSWC, intends to purchase on a sole source basis two hundred (200) each of P/N PM24555, 20 MEGABYTE PCMCIA CARDS from Centennial Technologies Incorporated, 7 Lopez Road, Wilmington, Massachusetts, 01887. NSWC is the Software Support Activity for the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) Program and is responsible for software deliveries to the Fleet and Land Based Test Sites (LBTS). These items are required for delivery and installation of a primary software component, the Cooperative Engagement Processor (CEP)- Tactical. CEC software currently maintains a Power-Up Built-In-Test (PBIT) that automatically initiates during boot-up and prevents the use of any other manufacturer's Flash Cards, because there is no other known PCMCIA Card with the data register polling algorithm used by Centennial Technologies. When implemented into the fleet, sailors are unable to enact any work-around to allow the substitution of another PCMCIA Flash Card. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR 13).
