Description
The intent of this job is to complete repairs to Coast Guard Cutter Healy's watertight doors outlined in Reference B and list of the doors to be repaired as outlined in Reference A. (These references can be requested from Ann Scdoris.) Requirements: The contractor shall provide all labor and material to accomplish the following: General: Reference A lists which watertight doors are to be repaired. Reference B indicates discrepancies associated with each door listed. The intent of this specification is to correct all noted discrepancies as outlined in Reference B. Performance Dates: 3/12/01 through 3/16/01, 4/9/01 through 4/20/01 AND 5/14/01 through 6/01/01. In the presence of the Coast Guard Inspector, inspect and test all affected equipment and systems to document original condition. Submit a Condition Found Report for all affected spaces noting any discrepancies in equipment and system operation. In the presence of the Coast Guard Inspector, secure and tag out all affected equipment and systems in accordance with Commandant Instruction 9077.1 before the start of any work. Cutter personnel will assist in locating all items requiring securing or isolating for work on this item. The Contractor shall remove or protet all interferences including but not limited to the piping, support brackets, clamps, insulation, sheathing and electrical cables. All interferences that are removed shall be tagged to facilitate proper reinstallation. The Contractor shall ensure that all removed equipment is kept in a clean, dry, and protected location. The Contractor shall obtain verification from the Coast Guard Inspector for the protective measures taken for equipment not removed. Gas Free Certification is Required. Preservation of Equipment is Essential. Coordination of all inspections with the designated Coast Guard Inspector is necessary to minimize production delays. Coast Guard Inspector Notes. The Coast Guard Inspector will perform eleven tests. Specifics will be included in bid package (obtained from Contracting Officer). The bid package including a complete list of references and specifications for the repair of Coast Guard Cutter Healy Water Tight Door Repair dated March 2001, Revision 1, can be obtained from Ann Scdoris, Contracting Officer, USCG ISC Comptroller Seattle, Pier 36, Seattle Wa, 206/217-6382. Coast Guard is tax exempt: B239641. Ship inspections are not possible due to the ship being underway from 3/20/01 to 4/6/01.
