Description

The United States Air Force is requesting proposals for the repair of steam lines, condensate lines and chilled water lines at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA. The scope of the project consists of furnishing all services, labor, material, equipment, tools, transportation, and performance of all operations necessary to meet the requirements of a firm-fixed price contract at Hanscom AFB MA, in accordance with the statement of work, technical specifications, and drawings. The principal items of work include, but are not limited to, repair of steam lines, condensate lines, and chilled water lines in various designated locations, in shallow tunnels or direct burial, including removal of the tunnel covers or excavation removal of all existing insulation, replacing existing piping in same size, replacing all insulation, removing and disposing of any asbestos, replacing any pipe hangers out of repair, hydrostatic testing new piping, and reinstalling covers and resealing same and in case of buried piping excavating , repairing or replacing piping, hydrostatic testing, backfilling, and restoring landscape. This is a two year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract against which delivery orders will be issued. The guaranteed minimum will be $25,000.00. This is a multiple award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity one year base contract with a one year option. The magnitude of construction is $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. All interested parties must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Da tabase in order to receive an award. These items will not be mailed and telephone requests will not be honored. The RFP will be released electronically on or about 9 Apr 01. The internet site is www.herbb@hanscom.af.mil. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after receipt of proposals, with no obligation to the offeror by the Government. An Acquisition Ombudsman, Colonel Joseph B. Magnone, Director, Commander's Staff, has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during proposal development. You should only contact the Ombudsman with issues or problems you cannot satisfactorily resolve with the program manager and/or contracting officer. The Ombudsman role is to hear concerns, issues, and recommendations and communicate these to the appropriate government personnel. The Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality if desired.
