Description

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), Cotton Programs, has a need for polypropylene spiral-sewn burlap bale bags for flat cotton bales, 70" X 100" and for the spiral sewn burlap bale bags for flat cotton bales, 70" X 100". Also needed are round wire bale ties, 10 gauge in 10' 3" and 10' lengths. This procurement will be awarded as a fixed price contract, FOB destination. Bid samples will be required. All items shall meet the specifications for bale bags as stated in the Cotton Bale Packaging Material Specifications, June 1999, published by the Joint Cotton Industry Bale Packaging Committee. The Cotton Division intends to procure a total 19,435 bale bags and offers are requested for either polypropylene or burlap bags. Deliveries shall begin August 1, 2001 with the final deliveries by September 1, 2001. There are thirteen shipping locations. This effort is advertised as a small business set aside under NAICS 314911. The solicitation, 62-M-APHIS-01, will be released on or about April 1, 2001. For a copy of the solicitation, submit a written or faxed request stating name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and solicitation number. All proposals shall have the solicitation number placed on the front of the proposal envelope. This solicitation is prepared under FAR 12, commercial item acquisition and shall be posted on the web at the linkurl provided at the bottom of this page. Proposals are due by May 10, 2001, 2:30 p.m. local time in Minneapolis, MN and bid samples are due by May 10, 2001, 2:30 p.m. local time in Memphis, TN. Those bidders who download the solicitation from the linkurl located on the bottom of this page, should send an email to the Contract Specialist stating that they have downloaded the solicitation. This will allow offeror's to be notified of amendments issued. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 97-23.
