- Description
- The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), acting through the USAID Mission to Egypt (USAID/Egypt), is seeking proposals from qualified U.S. firms for a four year cost-plus-fixed fee contract with one year option period. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be a performance based, results oriented contract with a task budget. This activity seeks to expand information and Communication Technology (ICT) within Egypt to achieve greater productivity and global competitiveness. This activity will require the services of a long-term team of expatriate advisors, and local Egyptians to work in ICT related issues in four areas: Legal and Regulatory Reform, increased e-Government and e-Business, expanded usage of ICT throughout Egypt, and administration of Grants to U.S. and Egyptians Non-Government Organizations (NGOs.) The team will be expected to carry out a number of tasks within these four areas. The team's composition is envisioned to include, but is not limited to the following expatriates: a Chief of Party, a regulatory advisor, an e-Government expert a Marketing and Business Development expert, and experts in automation, public awareness and project administration. The team will be expected to work with the Government of Egypt and other designated organizations as well as with the Egyptian private sector. Prospective offerors may request RFP No. 263-01-P-010 "Provide Technical Aassistance in Information and Communication Technology" in writing. Requests for the RFP should be sent to Roy Plucknett, Contracting Oficer, USAID/Egypt, Unit 64902, APO AE 09839-4902. Walk-in requestors must provide a written request for the RFP. Fax requests will be accepted, telephone reqests will not be accepted. Do not send self-addressed envelopes. The RFP will be issued on or after fifteen days from the date of publication of this notice. The deadline for receipt of proposals will be 45 days after the date of the issuance of the RFP. The preferred method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the Internet or by requests of a solicitation on a 3.5" floppy disk (Word format).
