Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates award of a 53-month incrementally funded contract to provide the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH), Surveillance and Evaluation Research Branch (SERB), services to continue the biennial implementation of the national school-based Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) among 9th through 12th grade high school students during the springs of 2003 and 2005 and to implement two methodological studies of questionnaire content and data collection procedures among samples of youth during the springs of 2002 and 2004. The methodological study in 2002 will measure the effects of question wording, questionnaire context, appeals for honesty, and student perception of honesty and accuracy on prevalence of risk behaviors. The methodological study in 2004 will measure the effects of data collection setting (i.e. school vs. household) and data collection techniques (e.g., paper and pencil vs. computer-assisted self-interviewing) on prevalence of risk behaviors. The date specified for receipt of proposals will be approximately 30 days after the issue date of the Request for Proposal (RFP), which is anticipated to be on/about April 6, 2001. Upon issuance, the RFP will be available on the internet at www.eps.gov.
