March 21, 2001 Subject: Request for Information (RFI) Dear Potential Offeror: This letter and attachments constitute a request for information from potential and prospective offerors in accordance with FAR 15.201(e). The U.S. Coast Guard, Aircraft Repair & Supply Center (ARSC) is developing a solicitation for spare parts in support of the HU-25 Falcon jet aircraft. Attached you will find a grouped listing of those parts and estimated quantities, along with the name of the manufacturer of each group. We request that you review the parts and groupings on the attached listing, and respond to the following questions: 1) On how many of the groups would you be able to offer? Are there specific groups or parts where you could not offer? Why? What method of grouping would you recommend to maximize your ability to offer? 2) Would you be able to supply the parts in the quantities stated? 3) The list includes the names of part manufacturers. Are you able to purchase parts directly from these manufacturers? If so, can you confirm that you have done this recently? 4) Considering the parts list and groupings, are there any other recommendations or comments you would make? This is an opportunity for you to provide input into our procurement process before a solicitation is released. The Coast Guard will use this information to ensure maximum participation by prospective contractors. By doing so, we also hope to reduce our own costs. The information you provide will be considered proprietary and will not be released. It will be used ONLY for the development of a future solicitation.
