Description

The United States Agency for International Development Mission to Benin (USAID/Benin) is seeking the technical services of a Contractor for a three-year results-oriented primary education program. Proposed activities will support the USAID/Benin Basic Education Team's strategic objective, under the following intermediate results: (1) improved pedagogical system; (2) increased girls' enrollment in target areas; (3) improved environment for stakeholders; and (4) improved management of the education system. In collaboration with the Basic Education Team and the Ministry of Education, the selected contractor will be responsible for determining the mix of activities, of short- and long-term technical assistance, training and materials needed to achieve the specific results required. USAID encourages the participation to the maximum extent possible of U.S. small businesses, U.S. small disadvantaged businesses, and U.S. women-owned small businesses in this activity as prime or subcontractors in accordance with Part 19 of the FAR. In this respect, it is anticipated that the prime contractor will make every reasonable effort to identify and make maximum practicable use of such concerns. To help identify potential subcontractors, a list of all organizations requesting a copy of the solicitation will be included with each solicitation issued. By providing the list, USAID does not endorse the listed organizations as being capable of carrying out the activity, nor does USAID verify the claimed status of the organizations. The list will contain the names of only those organizations known prior to the issuance of the solicitation. All questions related to this notice and requests for a copy of the RFP must be addressed in writing, by fax or Internet to the point of contact stated above. Specify the RFP requested, and include the complete name of the firm, street address, phone, fax, and email address. Telephone requests for the RFP will not be honored. The issuance date of the RFP is expected to be on or about April 13, 2001 and the RFP closing date will be on or about June 14, 2001. The publication of this notice or the issuance of a solicitation does not obligate the U.S. Government to award a contract. The preferred method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the Internet or by request of a solicitation on a 3.5 floppy disk (Word 97 format).
