Description
Unit Water Pod System "CAMEL" Program. The U.S. Army requires a mobile, rapidly deployable, flexible unit-level water distribution system that will meet critical Transformation Brigade requirements, as well as legacy and objective force requirements. The system will transport 900 gallons or more of water, be mounted on a government furnished Family of Medium Tactical Vehicle (FMTV) M1095 trailer, and meet the same mission profile of its intended prime mover (FMTV truck variants). The system will prevent water from freezing during cold weather operations, allow operation at temperatures down to -25 degrees F, and will chill water during hot-weather operations in order to increase palatability. The CAMEL shall have a re-circulatory capability, and a means for the user to monitor the chlorine residual and to re-chlorinate using chlorine compounds currently available in the supply system. The water must meet U.S. Army Surgeon General standards for potability. Any components that use fuel must use the same fuel as the prime mover. The system, when mounted, must be transportable by highway, rail, air, and marine transport modes. The system must be able to be handled and transported by current material handling equipment. We seek interested firms for design and production of the CAMEL system. This announcement is not a solicitation for a proposal or a guarantee of a contract award. The Government does not intend to pay sources that respond to this announcement.
