- Description
- The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract to Raytheon Electronics Systems, 180 Hartwell Road, Bedford, Massachusetts 01730 for engineering and technical services and support, documentation, training, analysis and operating forces deployment/exercise support for the Expeditionary Air Defense System (EADS), the Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), and the AN/MPQ-62 Continuous Wave Acquisition Radar (CWAR). The EADS/RTU combination is the software and hardware that provides crucial information, target acquisition and engagement control for the Stinger and Avenger gunners. As well, the EADS/RTU combination provides for the networking interoperability of U.S. and Allied sensors within an Air Defense Command and Control architecture. The AN/MPQ-62 Continuous Wave Acquisition Radar is a short-range (20 kilometer); two-dimensional radar used for cueing Stinger and Avenger gunners to beyond line-of-sight air targets. Raytheon Electronics Systems is the original equipment manufacturer. Engineering changes, technical support services, and engineering will encompass all aspects of CWAR performance, reliability, maintainability, and integration into Marine Corps and Joint littoral air defense architectures. Modifications and upgrades to CWAR hardware and software will range in scope from minor to significant. The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of system performance in stand-alone mode and as an integrated air defense sensor. The Marine Corps does not possess the drawing package or other engineering data associated with the equipment. Any response to this announcement shall be made in writing and e-mailed or faxed to the contract specialist no later than 10 May 2001. No telephonic responses will be accepted. See numbered Note 22.
