- Description
- This is an amendment to a previous synopsis dated March 15, 2001, which provides responses to the following questions. The response date for this combined CBD/Solicitation REMAINS 03/29/01. Question 1. Have arrangement been made with a decorator or exposition company or would [the offeror] be expected to bid these services as well? Response: The Government has not made arrangements, nor intends to make arrangements with a decorator or exposition company. The Contractor is expected to "manage" the entire showcase as specified in the original announcement. It is up to the offeror to propose the best solution to the government's requirement. Question 2: Does [the Government] already have 20 or 30 companies showcasing their products identified, or would [the Government] require [the Contractor] to contact these potential firms? Response: The Contractor will not be required to identify potential firms. The Government will identify the companies that will be involved in the showcase and will provide the winning offeror at time of award, the names, points of contact, e-mail, addresses, company profiles, and preliminary exhibit layouts. Question 3: Are the exhibitors marketing their own technologies or services, and can fees be charged [to exhibitors] to recover costs? Response: The purpose of the Technology Showcase is to share with attendees some of the technologies that have been, or are, in the process of being developed through research sponsored in part by the Advanced Technology Program. The Government will not consider proposals that include the collection of fees from exhibitors. Question 4: Clarify what hard deliverable (2) means as described? "The contractor must submit two hard deliverables: (1) project plan (action items and milestones), five calendar days after award and (2) list of all individuals and companies (emails, POC, addresses and phone numbers) contacted by the contractor for this order (date to be determined upon award date)." To paraphrase, does it mean that ...'the contractor must submit a list of all individuals and companies (emails, POC, addresses and phone numbers) contacted to elicit nationwide press coverage and to maximize attendance of new public attendees' ? Response: The Government's intent at the end of the project would be to have a listing of those contacted to elicit press coverage and to maximize attendance. Therefore, the answer is "yes."
