Description

The Department of the Navy, Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a contract to Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (SAC), 6900 Main St. Stratford, Ct. 06601 to conduct a Productionization Study for the SH-60R Helicopter Program. The purpose of the study is to review and analyze current manufacturing technologies available for incorporation into the future SH-60R production line that will allow cost and schedule savings. Specifically, this Productionization effort includes the study and implementation of improvements in the following areas: manufacturing; commonality; reliability & maintainability; airframe improvements; weight reduction and mission performance. SAC is the designer, developer and sole manufacture of the airframe for the SH-60R aircraft and the only known source possessing the knowledge, experience, and technical data necessary to perform this effort.
