THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. SOLICITATION DAAE30-01-Q-0604 IS BEING ISSUED AS A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION (RFQ). THE SOLICITATION DOCUMENT AND INCORPORATED PROVISIONS AND CLAUSES ARE THOSE IN EFFECT THROUGH FEDERAL ACQUISITION CIRCULAR 97-23. NAICS CODE 811310, SIZE STD $5.0 ITEM DESCRIPTION QTY U/I UNIT PRICE AMOUNT 0001 FURNISH & INSTALL 1 EA $____________ FEEDWATER PUMP EXISTING FEEDWATER PUMP SPECS: WORTHINGTON, 2 1/2 UNQ-10 DRIVEN BY EXISTING 150 HP MOTOR, CENTRIFUGAL, 250 GPM, 1200 TDH (MIN 1160 TDH), DEAERATED WATER SUPPLY @ MIN TEMP 225 DEGREES, 15-20 PSIG @ PUMP SUCTION, INSIDE PRESSURE 500 PSI, DISCHARGE 600 PSI, CAST IRON CONSTRUCTION, BRONZE TRIM, STD PACKING STUFFING BOX & LUBRICATED BEARINGS. EXISTING MOTOR SPECS: GENERAL ELECTRIC, INDUCTION 150 HP MOTOR DRIVE, TYPE K, FRAME 405TS, 460V, 3 PHASE, 60 CYCLE, 3560 FL RPM, SERVICE FACTOR 1.15, TIME RATING CONT. STATEMENT OF WORK: FURNISH ALL LABOR, SUPERVISION, TRAVEL, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES, SHIPPING/ HANDLING COSTS AND MATERIALS TO INSTALL EXACT FITTING FEEDWATER PUMP USING EXISTING MOTOR, PICATINNY ARSENAL NJ, POWERHOUSE, BLDG 506, ON A FIRM-FIXED- PRICE BASIS. PUMP FURNISHED SHALL BE NEW NOT REBUILT. EXISTING PUMP SHALL BE REMOVED AND PROPERLY DISPOSED OF BY THE CONTRACTOR. THE 150 HP MOTOR SHALL BE REMOVED AND SET ASIDE DURING PUMP BASE REFURBISHING. CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE AREA OF INSTALLATION PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF THE NEW REPLACEMENT PUMP AND EXISTING MOTOR ASSEMBLY. PUMP BASE REINFORCEMENT AND SURFACE SHALL BE REFUR- BISHED PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF NEW PUMP. NEW PUMP AND EXISTING 150 HP MOTOR SHALL BE INSTALLED TO FIT INTO EXISTING FEEDWATER PUMP NO. 1 MOTOR LOCATION ON REFURBISHED FOUNDATION. PUMP SUCTION SIZE IS 5 INCHES AND DISCHARGES ARE 2 1/2 INCH CONNECTIONS. UPON DELIVERY OF NEW PUMP, CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL, CONNECT, ALIGN, BALANCE AND READY FOR FULL OPERATION OF THE NEW PUMP AND EXISTING MOTOR, INCLUDING ALL ENERGY AND FLOW CONNECTIONS. CONTRACTOR SHALL OPERATE AND CHECK FOR ANY MALFUNCTION AND/OR LEAKAGE. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE 2 COPIES OF MANUALS/SPECIFICATION INFORMATION FOR THE INSTALLED PUMP ASSEMBLY. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A MINIMUM ONE WEEK ADVANCED NOTICE TO THE CONTRACTING OFFICER'S REPRESENTATIVE (COR)OR ALTERNATE COR PRIOR TO DELIVERY AND INSTAL- LATION OF PUMP AND PROVIDE NAMES OF EMPLOYEES WHO WILL BE PERFORMING THE WORK TWO DAYS PRIOR TO BEGINNING THE WORK IN OFDER TO OBTAIN ACCESS ON THE INSTAL- LATION. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: CLEANUP OF THE WORK AREA EACH WORKDAY AND REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF ALL WASTE MATERIAL OFF PICATINNY ARSENAL IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS. UTILITIES, WHICH ARE AVAILABLE AT THE PROJECT SITE, WILL BE FURNISHED AT NO COST TO THE CONTRACTOR FOR NORMAL LIGHTING, HEATING AND RUNNING OF HAND TOOLS ONLY. TERMS: FOB DESTINATION INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE SHALL BE PERFORMED BY THE GOVERNMENT COR OR ALTERNATE COR AT TACOM-ARDEC, PICATINNY ARSENAL NJ, VIA A CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE OF SERVICES. THE FOLLOWING PROVISIONS APPLY TO THIS ACQUISITION: FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION (FAR) 52.212-1, -2, -3, -4 AND -5 FAR 52.212-2 THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO EVALUATE AND AWARD WITHOUT DISCUSSION, HOWEVER, THE RIGHT TO DO SO IS RESERVED. EVALUATION CRITERIA: CAPABILITY OF THE ITEM TO MEET THE REQUIREMENT, PRICE AND PAST PERFORMANCE. NOTICE OF AWARD, STD FORM 1449, SHALL RESULT IN A BINDING CONTRACT WITHOUT FURTHER ACTION BY EITHER PARTY.
