Description
The United States Section of the International Joint Commission, United States and Canada (IJC), has a need for a contractor to manage the local area network (LAN) of its Washington, DC office. This LAN is one of three in the IJC system, the other two LANs being in Ottawa, Ontario and Windsor, Ontario (CANADA). Although only the Washington Office system is the subject of this Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation, the upgrading, management and future development of the LAN in the Washington, DC office depends on coordinating activities involving the LANs of the other two IJC offices. The tasks required for the management of the Washington, DC office LAN include standard management activities involving electronic mail, trouble shooting of equipment and problems with word processing and other software systems, virus checks, periodic system configuration changes and equipment upgrades, and limited training of IJC staff in the use and performance of new software and equipment configurations. It also involves supporting the needs of remote users, including Commissioners who work from remote locations and IJC Washington staff who are on travel. The IJC contemplates the negotiation of a fixed price contract for a two year period, beginning approximately September 1, 2001 and ending on September 30, 2003. Options for a third and fourth years on this contract are also included in the RFP solicitation. The applicable standard industrial classification (SIC) for this RFP is 7379. Responses to the RFP solicitation must be received at the IJC's Washington office by 4:30pm EDT on May 18, 2001. To assist in proposal preparation, the IJC has scheduled an open house at its facilities at 1250 23rd Street, NW, Washington, DC, Suite 100, for May 2, 2001 between the hours of 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Prospective responders (offerers) should indicate their intentions with respect to attendance at this time. A short meeting followed by a tour of the facility will introduce the IJC and its operations briefly. Attendees should submit questions in writing about the RFP. Since it is not likely that persons who can answer contractual questions will be present at the time of the tour, the written submission of questions will allow the IJC to review the questions and answer them to the extent possible in writing to all of the attendees within several days of the tour. To obtain a copy of the RFP, and register for the open house, offers should contact either Mr. Frank L. Bevacqua, or Dr. Joel L. Fisher International Joint Commission, United States and Canada 1250 23rd Street, NW Suite 100 Washington, DC 20440 Telephone (202) 736-9000 For fax instructions call the above number
