Description

This amended synopsis is issued to revise the number of options from 2 one-year to four one-year options extending the contract through 30 Sep 2006. All other information as previously published is unchanged. This synopsis is for services to provide door-to-door international cargo movement of perishable items. Approximately 11,376,450 pounds (including emergency shipments) will be shipped from the Defense Subsistence Office San Francisco (DSOSF) and the Defense Subsistence Office Seattle (DSOS) to various troop and Defense Commissary Agency customers in Guam, Korea and Japan. The perishable items will consist of fresh fruits and vegetables, live lobster, chilled fish, and dried and frozen processed food items. Door-to-door services will include trucking, air transportation, fumigation and destruction of infested commodities, off loading of containers, refrigeration, customs, sorting, and furnishing cargo quilt liners or liners equal to cargo quilt liners, and containers. The basic period of performance will be 1 Oct 2001 through 30 Sep 2002 with four one-year options to extend the contract through 30 Sep 2006 to include a "not to exceed" six month performance extension as authorized by FAR 52.217-8. Awardee must be a member of the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF). Request for Proposal will be released ON OR ABOUT 14 Apr 01. The projected date for the Preproposal Conference is 11 May 01. The projected date for the receipt of proposals is 01 Jun 01.
