DESC: 1005-01-408-5897, Part Number 12976818 and 1005-01-044-1026, Part Number 11825985. The items to procure are Barrel Assemblies. The end item is M240 Machine Gun. THE TECHNICAL DATA PACKAGE (TDP) FOR THIS SOLICITATION AND ANY RESULTING CONTRACT INCLUDES DOCUMENTS THAT ARE PROPRIETARY TO FN HERSTAL. DISCLOSURE AND USE OF THE TDP ARE RESTRICTED BY THE NON-DISCLOSURE AND NON-USE AGREEMENT THAT THE OFFEROR HAS EXECUTED PRIOR TO RECEIPT OF THE TDP. A TECHNICAL DATA PACKAGE (TDP) WILL NOT BE PROVIDED AS PART OF THE SOLICITATION. TO OBTAIN A COPY OF THE TDP, A PROSPECTIVE OFFEROR MUST SIGN A NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT. AFTER SIGNATURE THE NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT SHOULD BE FAXED TO (309)782-3813, ATTN: SHERI GROSS. AFTER RECEIPT OF THE NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT A COPY OF THE TDP WILL BE MAILED BY REGULAR MAIL. THE NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT IS AN ATTACHMENT TO THE SOLICITATION POSTED ON THE WEB. The barrel for NSN 1005-01-408-5897 is for the M240 Machine Gun, the size is approximately 23 inches in length. The parts attached to the barrel are the carrying handle assy, spring bracket, catch bracket, adaptor, front sight, gas regulator collar, gas regulator plug, flash suppressor, front sight assy. Each barrel shall be proof tested with one (NATO) High pressure, test cartridge and magnetic particle tested. Finish will be 5.3.1.2 of MIL-STD-171. The barrel, NSN 1005-01-044-1026 is for the M240 Machine Gun, the size is approximately 23 inches in length. The parts attached to the barrel are the gas regulator collar, barrel release, barrel latch, barrel adapter, flash hider and gas regulator plug. Each barrel shall be proof tested with one (NATO) High pressure test cartridge, magnetic particle tested and finish will be 5.3.1.2 of MIL-STD-171. Any award resulting from this solicitation will be a 3 year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) with a guaranteed minimum quantities of 1,500 each, NSN 1005-01-408-5897 and 200 each, NSN 1005-01-044-1026. FOB is Origin. Estimated issue date is on or about 18 April 2001. Proposed contract is Restricted to the Industrial Base. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore hardcopies will not be provided. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
