Description

The U.S. Army Materiel Command Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division located at the U.S. Army Soldier Biological and Chemical Command (SBCCOM) intends to conduct negotiations with HJM Precision, Inc., Troy, New York on an other than full and open competition basis for one Precision High Resolution Video Measuring System and 1.5 Days of Training and Installation. The Precision High Resolution Video Measuring System consists of MicroVu QUBIX 12"x8" Automated InSpec Vision System (Part # M5020112) to include: Black & White Video System, 3 Axis Servo Motor System, Field of View Measurement, Programmable Lighting Profile & Surface Zoom Lens, 0.5 micron (0.00002") Resolution Linear Encoders, 6" Z Axis, Programmable Zoom Lens with Coaxial Lighting, 2X Lens Multiplier (Based on Quotation # 4694-1). The Precision High Resolution Video Measuring System will be used by Fiber Project Personnel to research, develop and produce unique materials for The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) and The Department of The Treasury. Supplies are available from only the original contractor for the continued research, development and production of the unique materials required by the BEP, when it is likely that an award to any other source would result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the Government requirements. HJM Precision, Inc. is the only known supplier of equipment that can attain resolution to the 0.5 micron level in an automated, programmable inspection system with a 12" x 8" platform. See Note 22.
