- Description
- The Portland District of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to solicit offers for the Rogue River Bank Protection, City of Grants Pass, Water Filtration Plant. DESCRIPTION: This procurement includes approximately 200 lineal feet of steel sheet-pile to protect the riverbank from becoming further undermined at the City of Grants Pass Water Treatment Facility. The sheet-piles will be sealed and concrete will be poured behind the sheet-pile wall to fill voids and undermined areas between the sheet-pile and the existing riverbank. The sheet-pile wall top will be cut near the summer low flow water surface and a concrete cap will be placed at the top of the sheet-pile. A 16 foot high, stacked geocell revetment will be placed above the sheet pile and concrete cap. The geocell will be filled with soil and granular backfill and planted with native riparian vegetation. The sheet-pile wall and stacked geogrid riveted slope will be secured with tieback anchors and soil nails that will be drilled and grouted into the existing riverbank. Approximately 200 cubic yards of concrete and approximately 520 yards of soils and granular backfill will be placed within an area of approximately 0.06 acres. The majority of the work will be executed from the riverward side of the project site. Qualifications of the prime contractor and specialty subcontractors shall be included for the installation of sheet-piles, soil anchor tiebacks, and soil nail installations. Each firm, prime or subcontractor, individually for their specialty, shall have five or more years of successful construction experience and demonstrated subsequent satisfactory performance of the completed projects. These completed projects' scale shall include sheet-piles, tieback anchors, and soil nails of the size, depths, and installation complexity required for this project to be considered fully qualified. Qualifications shall include a list of successful projects previously completed, their name, location, size, date of construction. and a client point- of- contact with phone number for reference. Brief resumes listing experience and successfully completed projects and sizes shall also be required for sheet-pile installation crews, drillers, supervisors, and foremen. All qualifications and resumes shall be submitted with the bid documents to be considered fully responsive. Invitation for Bids (IFB) for ROGUE RIVER BANK PROTECTION, CITY OF GRANTS PASS, WATER FILTRATION PLANT, DACW57-01-B-0009 will be available free of charge, on or about April 26, 2001 in CD ROM format. No paper hard copy will be available. Tentative bid opening date is May 25, 2001. This procurement is open to small business concerns only. The small business size standard for this acquisition including all affiliates, having an average annual sales or receipts of the proceeding three years cannot exceed $27.5 million.
