Description

The intent of this project is to provide for the stabilization of roads 8538 and 85381 in the Wukuklook Creek watershed on Chichagof Island, Southeast Alaska. Work consists of treatment of the roadway to restore drainage patterns by removal of existing culverts, scarification of roadbed and seeding disturbed areas. The beginning of the project is located at kilometer post 38.4 on road 8530, approximately 42 kilometers from the City of Hoonah, Alaska. In-stream work is subject to a fish timing window of June 1 to July 15. Contract time is 30 calendar days. The price range for this project is $25,000 to $100,000. Simplified acquisition procedures apply to this acquisition. The solicitation will be posted to the Tongass National Forest homepage at http://www.fs.fed.us/r10/tongass for viewing and printing on or about April 16, 2001. The closing date for receipt of quotes will be approximately 20 days from the date of issue of the Request for Quotes.
