Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Roche Molecular Systems, Inc., Alameda, California, for purified Genomic DNA Extracts to renew Standard Reference Material (SRM) 2391b. Roche Molecular Systems is the only vendor that can supply the specific purified Genomic materials to NIST to maintain the continuity of this Standard Reference Material that is used by Forensic Crime Laboratories throughout the United States.*****Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 60 days from receipt of purchase order (ARO).*****The North American Industry Classification System code for this acquisition is 541710, and the small business size standard is $5 million.*****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by April 18, 2001 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement
