Description

The Lassen National Forest intends to acquire services for watershed protection through road reconstruction at the Yellow Creek Crossing on Forest Road No. 27N04. The reconstruction involves replacing an existing arch pipe with a permeable fill and box culvert. This work entails removal of the existing fill and replacing it with a much lower profile riprap structure (permeable fill) that will allow flood flows to overtop the road. The work will include using the excess fill material to "plug and pong" the very deeply gullied channel below the road. These structures also will be protected with rock riprap. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for May 15, 2001 at 10:00 AM at the Almanor Ranger Station in Chester, California. Contact Greg Napper, (530) 252-6440 for more details.
