Description

The St. Johns County Shore Protection Project will nourish 2.5 miles of coastline with approximately 3,700,000 cy of sand. The borrow area is located along and adjacent to the St. Augustine Harbor entrance channel. The contract will consist of a base bid and an optional bid item. The base bid consists of placing 400,000 cy of sand at the southern end of the shore protection project approximately 4.5 miles south of the St. Augustine Harbor entrance channel. The optional bid item consists of placing 3,300,000 cy of sand over an approximate distance of 1.5 miles beginning approximately 2.7 miles south of the entrance channel. Debris removal, vibration control monitoring and sea oat planting are also required. Dredging is both landward and seaward of the COLREGS Demarcation Line. The beach disposal area is both lanward and seaward of the COLREGS Demarcation Line. Magnitude of construction is over $10,000,000. Solicitation will be issued on or about 2 May 2001 and open on or about 5 June 2001. Solicitation will be issued in electronic format only. Bidders will be provided a CD-ROM at no cost.
