13-Ammunition and Explosives-Potential Sources Sought 13-CTG IMP ARD 446 and 863 type cartridges DUE: 27 Apr 2001 Program Management POC: Bonnie Tidball/WMBA/(801)777-2103 JETTISON CARTRIDGES SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis. It is intended as a method of identifying potential sources interested in manufacturing a jettison cartridge. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the government. The Air Force is seeking potential contractors to "qualify to bid" as a source supplier for Jettison Cartridges. Specifications, plans, or drawings relating to the procurement described are incomplete or not available and cannot be furnished by the Government. The item is predominately aluminum. Dim: 1.812" long x 1.075" diameter. Function: provide gas pressure to eject various stores and release equipment from various aircraft. Function parameters must meet or exceed the current requirements for the ARD-446 and 863 cartridges but must incorporate changes that will make the cartridges burn cleaner. Upon contract award, the selected best value contractor shall be required to complete additional significant efforts to demonstrate complete interchangeability and interoperability with existing U.S. Government inventories not limited to: demonstration, analysis, environmental testing, and drop testing. A solicitation will not be issued as a result of this CBD notice. Responses to the POC's above by mail or email must be received no later than 27 April 2001.
