Description

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences intends to award a sole source purchase order to Bio-Rad Life Science Group, Hercules, CA pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) -- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the following items: 1) 170-7700 Fluor-S Multi-Imaging System, 2) 170-7730 Long UV Kit, 3) 170-7611 PC SCSI Card/PCI, 4) 170-7706 105MM Lens. This system must be compatible with existing Bio-Rad Imaging Analysis Software PD Quest. System can remove background noise from system and correct for all dead pixels on the CCD. It allows variable spatial resolution to approx. 150 micron. It can analyse blots, film, and opaque samples with UV and white light. It has an eight position filter wheel which can accommodate a large number of fluorescent, chemiluminescent, chemifluorescent, and colorimetric techniques as well as the flexibility for new techniques through the capacity to use custom filters. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 5 days of this notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 5 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Bio-Rad. The NAICS Code/Size is 339111/500EM. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.*****
