Description

Major tasks will include: (1) navigation inertial equipment modification and repair to convert and/or refurbish, test and deliver Electrostatically Supported Gyro Navigator (ESGN) Stable Platform and Housing (SPH) and ESGN Shock Isolation Systems; (2) fabrication of ESGN SPH Refurbishment Kits; (3) production of ESG spinners; (4) upgrade and test ESGN Electronic Equipment Consoles (EEC); (5) fabrication of ESGN spares; (6) ESGN TRIDENT II (D5) Backfit effort including Strategic Systems Projects Alteration (SPALT) EEC upgrades, software support for the D5 Backfit Navigation Integrated Test Program, SPALT EEC cable sets and production material as well as assistance in installation of D5 Backfit East Coast SPALT installations; and (7) other technical support for ESGN's and related components to support the TRIDENT I and TRIDENT II Navigation subsystems. The effort will include six option line items for FY 02/03 related to EEC production and vendor qualification; production and upgrade of additional EEC's; and technical support for Ships Inertial Navigation System (SINS), Electrostatically Supported Gyro Monitor (ESGM), and ESGN. The proposed contract will also include an option provision to increase the level-of-effort (LOE) up to 30% on those items which will be LOE. Award will be made using other than full and open competition to Boeing North American Inc., Missile Defense and Space Command, Anaheim, CA, the only known source with unique facilities and personnel expertise required for this program.
