Description

DESC: This is a Request for Information (RFI) being released by the USDA Forest Service, Milwaukee, WI on behalf of the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, Wilmington, IL. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is: 1) to announce the intentions of the USDA Forest Service (USDA FS) to demolish and remove various structures from the lands acquired from the Joliet U.S. Army Arsenal; and 2) to provide an opportunity for industry and other interested parties to provide USDA -- FS with information regarding marketability of various reusable materials to allow the USDA FS to make informed decisions regarding methodology of demolition, removal and/or disposal of these materials. The materials include: non-standard bricks, utility poles, and railroad ties. THIS RFI IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION OR ULTIMATELY AWARD A CONTRACT. RESPONSES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS PROPOSALS NOR WILL ANY AWARD BE MADE AS A RESULT OF THIS SYNOPSIS. All information contained in the RFI is preliminary, as well as subject to modification, and is in no way binding on the Government. FAR clause 52.215-3, Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (OCT 1997), is incorporated by reference into this RFI, paragraph(c) of this clause shall read as follows: "(c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of: determining procurement methodologies based on marketability of salvageable materials." NO PROPRIETARY DATA SHOULD BE SUBMITTED IN RESPONSE TO THIS RFI. ANY SUBMISSIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED TO BE PUBLIC INFORMATION.
