- Description
- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Office of Human Resources and Education is releasing a Cooperative Agreement Notice (CAN-01-HRE-02) soliciting proposals from organizations for assistance and expertise in the development of a NASA-wide Undergraduate Student Research Program (USRP). The primary purpose of this program is to provide additional stimulus and support to undergraduate students in their pursuit of careers in engineering, computer science, mathematics and the life/physical sciences. The core component of this program will be hands-on research experience at a NASA Center under the supervision of a research mentor. Student eligibility, at a minimum, will include undergraduate collegiate students, (U.S. Citizens only) whose academic major -- or primary research interest -- is directed toward NASA-related engineering, science and technology disciplines. NASA seeks a partner organization with experience in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of nation-wide undergraduate research programs and activities involving a broad cross-section of academic institutions and student communities. Proposals to develop this program will be accepted from all categories of U.S. organizations, including educational institutions, industry, nonprofit institutions, professional societies, and/or collaborative consortia. On or after April 9,2001, this Cooperative Agreement Notice will be available electronically from the World Wide Web through the NASA Education Home Page at www.education.nasa.gov. To obtain additional programmatic information or to request a paper copy of this Cooperative Agreement Notice, contact Mr. James J. Gorman, Jr., Education Programs Officer, Code FE, Office of Human Resources and Education, NASA Education Division, NASA Headquarters, Washington, DC 20546-0001; Tel: (202) 358-2172; E-mail: Jim.Gorman@hq.nasa.gov. The solicitation leading to the award of this Cooperative Agreement is issued pursuant to title 14 CFR Pat 1260 for all recipients.
