Description

This is Amendment No. 1 to Solicitation No. DTRS57-01-R-20015 titled Libby Asbestos- Fill and Topsoil. The solicitation was published on March 23, 2001. This solicitation is amended as follows: (1) Receipt date for proposals is extended to April 17, 2001 by 2:00 PM EST. (2) Add the following specification for line items 0002 and 0002AA- Clean Topsoil Delivered: -- Soil shall be composed of 20 to 40 percent sand, 10 to 25 percent clay and 50 to 70 percent silt and be classified as a silt-loam by the U.S. Department of Agriculture classification system. (3) Provide answers to the following questions submitted by prospective offerors: Question 1: Is the Opencut Mining Permit restricted to Montana only, or can it be any state? Answer: The vendor shall provide the necessary permit(s) for Opencut Mining as required by the state from which the fill and topsoil originate. Question 2: Should there be a bid line item for soil sampling? Answer: No. After the contract is awarded, the government will conduct the periodic sampling. Two (2) copies of offers will be received at U.S. Department of Transportation, Volpe Center, 55 Broadway, Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA 02142, Attn: Carolyn Lovett, DTS-852 either by mail or fax at (617) 494-3024 at the date and time specified above. Offerors shall acknowledge receipt of Amendment No. 1 when submitting proposal.
