- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division intends to enter into negotiations for a Firm Fixed Price contract, on an Other Than Full and Open Competition basis, to Integrated Digital Systems, Inc. (IDS), 245 North Main, P.O. Box 291, Milville, UT 84326 to provide, install, and perform functional testing of (32) ALID subassemblies, Part Number IDS-ALIDS-04. The subassembly is a direct, form, fit and functionally compatible replacement for the DAA-ALIDS-03 subassembly, with enhanced capabilities. The contractor shall also perform on-site system upgrades to (7) ALID systems used within the F/A-18 laboratories. These upgrades shall consist of replacement of all internal wiring assemblies and cooling fans, and cleaning and preventative maintenance on internal connectors and components to prolong the life of the ALID system and improve reliability. These subassemblies are required to support all ongoing and future Software Configuration Sets (SCS) for the F/A-18 aircraft. The (32) replacement subassemblies (Part Number IDS-ALIDS-04) will provide enhanced capabilities over the existing DAA-ALIDS-03 subassemblies, most notably an enhanced Real Time Clock (RTC) capability. The contractor shall also perform on-site delivery and perform integrated functional and regression testing which will ensure and demonstrate that the stated upgrades were successful and that existing ALID functionality was retained. The F/A-18 laboratories utilize a specialized MIL-STD-1553 Interface subsystem known as the ALID for providing a physical interconnect between the various avionics among the F/A-18 suite and the respective simulation host computer embedded in the various laboratory consoles. The ALID provides the ability to simulate MIL-STD-1553 remote terminal devices, monitor serial bus and system performance, and for providing the capability for error injection and system performance characterization. The current physical facility hardware architecture utilizes ALID systems for all laboratory MIL-STD-1553 bus monitoring, analysis and data recording. The ALID device was designed and manufactured by DAA and subsequently by IDS. It was tailored specifically for the avionics simulation laboratories located at NAWCWPNS China Lake, CA. The ALID is a key component system that provides a wealth of capability within the F/A-18 laboratories, without which the laboratories would be unable to complete its mission. Responses to this intent to solicit, other than from the source listed, will be required to submit information to verify their prior experience and knowledge of the ALID system. These responses shall be submitted in writing to Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Code 210000D, Attn: Debbie Winfield, China Lake, CA 93555-6100. Questions may be addressed to Debbie Winfield, (760) 939-9661. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Note 22 and 26 Applies
