Description

The USAF Academy Operational Contracting office is conducting this sources sought/request for information to identify the availability of sources to provide Mesh Athletic shorts for the Cadet Wing. The Academy seeks to acquire an estimated quantity of 4000 pairs of shorts each year for a total of five years. This would be acquired by means of a contract with a base year and four option years. This Request for Information is issued for the purpose of: 1. Identifying potential contractors with the capability of manufacturing the proposed items in accordance with the attached Purchase Description. 2. Identifying businesses who can offer the same or similar Mesh Athletic Shorts in the commercial marketplace at established catalog or market prices 3. Promote an early exchange of information between manufacturers and Operational Contracting concerning this acquisition. This would be accomplished primarily by providing a sample product to this office. 4. Information resulting from this RFI shall be used as market research to ascertain the various types of domestically produced Mesh Athletic Shorts available, price, delivery, and other market information. This Notice is not a Synopses, nor a Request for Proposal (RFP). Potential contractors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the requirements of the Buy American Act and particularly FAR Part 25 and the DFARS Part 225. Describe your current and past experience providing items which meet the proposed requirement. Please indicate your Active Registry with Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Further information regarding CCR may be obtained at http://www.ccr2000.com Please indicate whether your company is a large or small business in relation to NAICS 315228 Athletic clothing (except team athletic uniforms), men's, boys' and unisex (i.e., sized without regard to gender), cut and sewn from purchased fabric.
