Description
The Bureau of Reclamation, Wyoming Area Office, Mills WY, is seeking potential sources, for cable that shall be manufactured with in the last 24 months, round, have ASTM class B or C copper conductor, have an AWG designation of 14, 4 conductors, 600V. The 14 AWG conductors must be 19 stranded. Have coverings or insulation suitable for installation in the vertical position without injury to the covering or deformation of the insulation when supported in accordance with NEC article 300-19. Shall be suitable for installation, in cable trays, in conduit and, for direct burial. Have insulation on the individual conductors that is in XHHW. In some instances, XHHW will be listed as XLP. Have a binder tape or jacket covering. Have shielding that conforms to NEMA WC-7 (ICEA S-66-524), part 4, except the type shall be limited to the following: A. Copper tape with a thickness of at least 5 mils and a minimum overlap of 10 percent. B. Cooper braid consisting of 24 groups of 6 or 7 No. 30 AWG wires per group, or the equivalent in total circular mil area, providing a minimum coverage of 85 percent. Have color coding in accordance with table K-2 of NEMA WC-7. The base colors shall be colored insulation or jacket compound. The use of color coatings applied to the insulation or the jacket surface will not be acceptable. Have an overall flame-retardant covering (jacket) or thermoplastic or neoprene that is at least 60 mils thick. Small quantity is needed. This synopsis is issued for information only. Information submitted in response to this notice will be use solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement.
