- Description
- The INL Bureau is requesting offers for the purchase of a vehicle to be exported to Central America. This procurement is a small business set aside and a solicitation. No additional information will be mailed out. Vendors may fax questions directly to the contracting Officer. The vehicle required is a Utility Van with a Cutaway Chassis. It will be used by law enforcement personnel as a mobile inspection station. A vehicle is needed with external access to inspection equipment, one which can securely store tools and equipment inside the vehicle out of the elements, and some of the items will be bulky. Internal dimensions should allow for storage of 20g air compressor and 5000ktw portable generator, should also allow room for personnel to enter and exit without being too restricted (person of average height should be able to stand up without bending over); should have rack on top for transportation of extension ladders and other large items should have locking rear doors for temporary storage and transportation of seized illicit drugs. Vehicle should have dual rear axle to allow for excess weight of equipment. Smaller items which the vehicle will have to carry will include high pressure tubing, air tools, long extension cords for use with generator, portable lighting stands, tool boxes, safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, cutting torches and tanks, pylons, and other miscellania. The vehicle should have storage shelves inside also to allow for storage of smaller items plainly visible. The following features must also be included in this vehicle. Cutaway chassis cab-DRW two door regular cab wheelbase:158", 7.3L V8 turbo diesel engine alternator, H.D. 340 Amp, (2) batteries diesel 78 AH engine block heater automatic transmission/4 speed/overdrive P/S & P/front disc brakes. F & R anti-lock braking system, dual exterior mirrors, (6) LT225/75R16E all season tires dual rear wheels 16" steel wheels radio AM FM stereo/clock with 2 (two) speaker gauges: fuel level, oil pressure, temperature & voltmeter heavy duty suspension front/rear stabilizer bars, H.D. engine cooling system safety belts driver's side, air bag (2) dual bucket seats H.D. Vinyl upholstery, color required by the Govt. is white outside with coordinating neutral color inside, no window in body. Straight rear step bumper. Two each interior canopy dome lights, with switch on dash. Master locking system for exterior side doors, both sides, 2 each 3 hook material rails, 1 ea. Side rear of interior cargo area. Rail measure approx. 28" in length. Two crossbar ladder racks on canopy roof. Six each tie downs, three each side of interior cargo area. Oxygen/acetylene bottle gas retainer installed in interior cargo area. Two rows of E-Track cargo. Control strips down each side of the interior cargo area with 4 E-Track straps shipped loose. Two each 10 lb. Fire extinguishers with brackets. One in cargo area at rear, one on front body bulkhead in driver's compartment. Unit will be installed on chassis exterior and will be painted to match required cab color. The Government will make an award to the responsible Offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation contained herein and is most advantageous to the Government (i.e. that which represents Best Value to the Government). All offers which are rated technically sufficient will then be evaluated for cost/price and delivery time ARO. The Govt. may award to other than the lowest priced offer, if the delivery time ARO for the lowest priced offer is significantly longer as defined by the Govt. THESE VEHICLES ARE URGENTLY REQUIRED. Total prices quoted must be FOB price to Port of Miami, FL. All offers must be received no later than 4:30 PM, EST, on May 1, 2001. All responsible offers will be considered by the Bureau*****
