Description
NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 1 each, Stokes Model 1722, High Vacuum Mechanical Booster Pump having a displacement of 1300 CFM and an ultimate blank-off of 2x10-4 Torr. The 2-stage pumping system consists of a dry lobe blower 1st stage, driven by a 7 1/2 HP open drip motor; and a 412-j, 300 CFM Microvac vacuum pump 2nd stage, driven by a 10HP open motor. Must have a vacuum switch to start or stop the blower at a pre-set pressure. Must have push buttons for actuating the forepump, and a selector switch to allow operation of the forepump without the blower. The standard voltage must be 460/60/3. Must be an 8 inch connector with a 13.5 inch OD ASA suction flange. 1 each, oil mist separator for the above pump. 1 each, water miser (installed) for the above pump. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Stokes Vacuum, Inc., based on the existence of two Stokes roughing pumps currently in the vacuum chamber and the necessity to maintain fit in both form and function. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on April 25, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
