- Description
- The Veteran Health Administration (VHA) Agency of the Department of Veteran Affairs is submitting the following Request for Information to solicit potential vendors to provide Network encryption technology though out the VA. This solicitation will be used for encryption on both Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks. Potential bidders should submit a response showing how they are able to apply encryption technology to meet the following six critical requirements: 1. End to end solution. 2. Must operate at near wire speed for the following transmission formats; 56 kbps, DSL/Cable, DS-1/T1, 10/100 Ethernet, GigE, Ds-3/T3, OC3/12 3. Must support the IP protocol. 4. Must meet all relevant government and agency security standards. 5. Must support Quality of Service and Class of Service. 6. Must support 3DES Vendors who successful meet the above minimum requirements will be further evaluated against a full list of specific requirements developed by the agency. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION, BUT A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. THIS RFI DOES NOT REPRESENT A CONTRACT, A PROMISE TO CONTRACT, OR A COMMITMENT OF ANY KIND ON THE PART OF THE GOVERNMENT. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL AND IN NO WAY COMMITS THE GOVERNMENT TO AWARD A CONTRACT. THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT OBLIGATED TO AND WILL NOT PAY FOR INFORMATION RECEIVED AS A RESULT OF THIS SYNOPSIS. Interested responsible businesses must submit sufficient information to assess your company's ability to satisfy these requirements under an existing contract vehicle such as GSA schedule. All responses must be submitted by e-mail on or before COB April 25, 2001.
