- Description
- NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for an accommodation assessment to determine the range of suitable architectures and technologies for adding a Spacewire bus interface to an existing Solid State Recorder (SSR). Of primary importance will be to identify critical gaps in technology, where modest investment can make a significant long-term impact on the way NASA Enterprises conduct their space missions. The studies will focus on identifying advantages, disadvantages and implementations of a Spacewire interface in an existing SSR. It is anticipated that the Goverment may make multiple awards for the accommodation study, each with a firm-fixed price not to exceed $50K. THIS PROCUREMENT IS FOR STUDIES ONLY. AT THIS POINT IN TIME, NO FUNDING OR PROGRAM AUTHORITY EXISTS FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF HARDWARE. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541710 and 500 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DOC9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 561-23457-0000/920 is on or about May 2, 2001, with an anticipated quote due date of on or about May 17, 2001. Vendors who wish to receive a copy of the RFQ when it is issued shall submit their request in writing (fax or e-mail) to the point of contact. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
