Description

A/E service for a fully developed design, working drawings, specifications, cost estimate, construction period services and site visit. The scope of design shall include complete demolishion and gutting of the entire 5th floor to include flooring, walls, ceiling, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, etc. New design will provide for the design of a new 40 bed Nursing Home Care Unit (NHCU), the removal of the existing 80 ton roof mounted chiller and air handler sysytem and associated piping and equipment (electrical or otherwise) currently sitting on the roof of the 5th floor and the 6th floor mechanical room. Repair existing roof where mechanical system will be removed. Design will include design of all mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire sprinkler, fire alram, nurse call, code blue, cable TV, and telephone/data to provide for complete functional systems for the NHCU, SPD and displaced functions. Design of these systems will include providing design load calculations for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Provide certified Industrial Hygienist (I.H.) services to investigate existing building conditions to assess if there is any asbestos that requires abatement. Asbestos abatement plans and specifications will be developed at each stage of design development as necessary to accommodate the design requirement in accordance with the scope of work at the West Texas VA Health Care System. Estimated construction cost is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Interested firms must submit their Standard Forms 254's and 255's with appropriate data as described in Note #24 by close of business, April 24, 2001. This solicitation is unrestricted in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. NAICS assigned is 54131. Thsi in not a request for proposal.
