Description

The Virginia Contracting Activity, on behalf of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), intends to award a one year Firm Fixed Price contract to Vangard Technology Inc for maintenance support for a specialized tape storage robot. Contract maintenance support the AML/J (manufactures model# J-B-001), (4) DST-312 tape drives, AML/J drive bay module, AML/J storage module, and software support for up to 400 slots drive type#3. The robotic tape storage unit is located at Joint Forces Intelligence Command (JFCOM) in Norfolk, VA. The tape storage robot provides critical backup mass storage for the JRCS SGI server, and on-line RAID-5 array. Maintenance services require on-site hardware support for 7 X 24 X 4. Maintenance response time shall not exceed four(4)hours for any condition that necessiates shut down of the JRCS. No contract award will be made on the basis of offers or any other information received in response to this notice because this synopsis of intent to place an order will not be considered a solicitation document. If no written proposal and pricing are received within fifteen (15) days of this synopsis, to the effect that a comparable source is available, or that it is more Advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Vangand Technology Inc, Englewood, CO.
