Description

This is a sources sought synopsis published in order to identify sources in the industry that may provide barge mounted seawater pumps at the Naval Air Station North Island Carrier Wharf repair pier on behalf of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. We encourage any vendor that is capable of providing a complete system capable of continuous, uninterrupted saltwater utility service that meets or exceeds all attributes identified below to submit commercial product information to the contracting office. The desired seawater pump system is to meet the following performance requirements: flexible compatibility to ensure operation with existing pierside services; capability of operating within current environmental permit constraints, such as copper discharge levels, etc.; can deliver sea water at 150 psig and 4400gpm continuously for at least six months without an unscheduled outage, with delivery made to ships via exiting connection of flexible hoses. Responses to this request for information should comprise any product information that you have available. The Navy has a preference for commercially available products. Please explain how your product might meet the above described performance requirements and any modifications that may be needed. The deadline for receipt of responses is 3 May 2001. It is anticipated that a solicitation for these items will follow this sources sought announcement within approximately four months, with an anticipated solicitation closing date of 25 July 2001.
