Description
The Government requires a trawl vessel to conduct an anuual survey of Pacific salmon ecology. The vessel is required to be a minimum registered length of 120 ft., and possess a minimum main engine continuous horsepower of 1,200 to conduct surface trawl surveys within the eastern coastal waters of the Bering Sea. The Base year charter period will typically begin around the middle of August and continue for twenty (20) days and include options for performance in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. Vessel must be completely rigged for trawling, and have sufficient fuel and fuel-holding capacity to conduct four (4) weeks of charter operations without refueling. Contractor shall provide a 5-person crew, including a Captain, fisher-cook, fisher-engineer, and two (2) other fishers. The vessel must also be able to accommodate at least four (4) scientists, with separate quarters for male and female scientists The Government will two (20 midwater rope trawls, Cantrawl Pacific Model 400/500, completely rigged and ready to fish, one pair of steel alloy trawl doors, winch and davit to deploy the CTD and zooplankton gear. The charter will begin and end in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. All responsible, responsive offers will be considered.
