Description

This is a sole source combined synopsis/solicitation for modified commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number DTCG40-01-Q-50076 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-24. The applicable North American Industry Classification System standard is 33429. The small business size standard is 500 employees. The requirement consists of the following items used in LORAN solid-state transmitter support: 1) Power Supply Upgrade Kit, Part No. 03-17101-101, Qty 20 Each; 2) Power Supply Upgrade Kit, Part No. 03-17102-101, Qty 20 Each; (Item No. 1 and 2 are used in the Pulse Amplitude and Timing Controller (PATCO)); 3) Power Supply Upgrade Kit, Part No. 03-17103-101, Qty 20 Each; 4) Power Supply Upgrade Kit, Part No. 03-17104-101, Qty 20 Each. (Item Nos. 3 and 4 are used in the Transmitter Operational Controller (TOPCO)). 5)HCG Power Supply Upgrade Kit, Qty 50 Each. (Item No. 5 is used in the Half Cycle Generator Power Supply). Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination, USCG Engineering Logistics Center, Receiving Room, Bldg 86, 2401 Hawkins Point Rd., Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. Drawing or specifications are not available, and cannot be furnished by the Government. No equals or alternate items shall be considered for this procurement. Packaging, packing, and preservation shall be in accordance with best commercial practices to enable shipment to destination. Offeror shall include a complete copy of FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (Feb 2001). It is anticipated that a non-competitive sole source purchase order will be issued to purchase this item from Megapulse, Inc., 101 Billerica Avenue, 4 Billerica Business Center, N. Billerica, MA 01862, or authorized distributor. This action is being taken under the authority of 10 U.S. Code 2304 (c)(1) and in accordance with FAR Subpart 6.302-1, for acquisition of supplies from only one source when no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. Megapluse, Inc. is the recommended source for the following reasons: (1) The power supply upgrade kits contain unique mounting hardware and brackets that are custom made for this application only. (2) These PATCO power supply upgrade kits are intended to replace the original Lambda LXS-CC-6R and LCD-4-22 (Dual Rate) DC power supplies with modern equivalents. (3) The TOPCO power supply upgrade kits are intended to replace the original LXS-A-R-OV-R and LXS-A-15-R DC power supplies with modern equivalents. However, all responsible sources who can provide the part number being requested may submit a quote, which shall be considered by this agency. Written quotations are due no later than 30 April 2001 via fax to Mrs. Dreszer. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)!
