Description

NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to provide the appropriate hardware and installation services for 2 sub panels (16 circuit breakers per panel) to two 15 kW power supplies (Supply 480 V to power supply rack ) powering the MSFC PRC nine ft vacuum chamber in building 4655. Additionally, the contractor shall provide the appropriate hardware and installation services for 2 sub panels (16 circuit breakers per panel) to the controllers for (Supply 277 V to 120 V controller rack ) the MSFC Propulsion Research Lab's nine ft vacuum chamber. The contractor shall also provide wiring sizes and type, schematics, and diagrams. Contractor shall meet with MSFC personnel no later than 1 month after start of contract to finalize integration details. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Electrical Services in Decatur, Alabama in accordance with FAR 13.106-2(5) based on the integration into an existing system previously installed by Electrical Services and the effect on the warranty for that system. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on April 27, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
