Description

This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the following items from ABB Automation, Wickliffe, OH 44094, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) "only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisy agency requirements". The parts being purchased are for an existing, Government-owned central process distributed control system which was manufatured by ABB Automation. The parts must be fully compatible with said system and only ABB Automation has the detailed design and equipment specifications required to manufacture compatible parts. The items being purchased are: Item 1, ABB Model No. P-HC-BRC-1000000 MFP controller upgrade, qty. 33 ea.; Item 2, ABB Model No. P-HA-MSC-PBA-00000 MMU12 mounting kit for process buss adapter for the Item 1 controller upgrade, qty. 33 ea.; Item 3, ABB Model No. P-HC-BRC-PBA-1000 foreign device interface process buss adapter for the Item 1 controller upgrade, qty. 33 ea. All three line items are to be furnished in accordance with specification nos. WBPEEUD230001, 2 pages, dated 1997 and WBPEEUS23000240, 2 pages, undated, both incoprporated herein by reference and made a part hereof. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-23. The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 334119 and 500 employees, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement. Delivery to the NASA GLENN RESEARCH CENTER, Cleveland, Ohio, 44135 is required within 30 calendar days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. Quotations for the items(s) described above are due by 4:30 pm, EDT, April 30, 2001 and may be mailed or faxed to Michelle Mader, NASA Glenn Research Center, Mail Stop 500-305, Cleveland, Ohio 44135, fax. no. 216-433-2480 and include: solicitation number, FOB destination to this Center, proposed delivery schedule, discount/payment terms, warranty duration (if applicable), taxpayer identification number (TIN), cage code, identification of any special commercial terms, and be signed by an authorized company representative. Quoters are encouraged to use the Standard Form 1449, Solicitation/Contract/Order for Commercial Items form found at URL: http://procure.arc.nasa.gov/Acq/Forms/Index.html to submit a quotation. Quoters shall provide the information required by FAR 52.212-1. If the end product(s) quoted is other than domestic end product(s) as defined in the clause entitled "Buy American Act -- Supplies," the quoter shall so state and shall list the country of origin.
