THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR 1-168-RFI.1078 Piezo-Electric Etalon. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to 1) delete the row named "Contrast Ratio" (per amendment 1) under Optical Requirements. 2) The following is hereby added as the third paragraph under MECHANICAL/THERMAL REQUIREMENTS: "Etalon mechanical mounting interface shall be such that the optical axis of the etalon be parallel to the surface of an optical bench and be compatible with the standard optical bench hole pattern (1 inch centers)." 3) The following is hereby added as the second paragraph under ELECTRICAL/SOFTWARE CONTROL REQUIREMENTS: "Electronics included with the PZT shall include the three PZT drivers, capacitive stabilized bridge, high voltage power supply, and oven controller. Control electronics shall be capable of being interfaced to a computer and control all PZT parameters and capacitive feedback system. External electronic interface (e.g., voltages, currents, temperature monitors) will be designed by NASA." 4) The following is hereby added as the third paragraph under ELECTRICAL/SOFTWARE CONTROL REQUIREMENTS: "Flight capable electronics are not required. Laboratory grade electronics shall be used but the design shall be such that replacement using high reliability, space radiation hardened components can be accomplished. The Power input to the etalon is assumed to be a standard spacecraft 28 Volt DC unregulated source." The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on [ENTER DATE].
