Description

NASA/LaRC is hereby soliciting information for potential sources to design and fabricate a Carbon Tetrafluoride (CF4) Recovery System. NASA LaRC has a requirement to replace the existing vacuum blower system and CF4 reclamation system for the 20-Inch Mach 6 CF4 Tunnel at NASA Langley Research Center, located in Hampton, Virginia. The existing CF4 reclaimer is approximately 27 years old and was manufactured by Cryenco Cryogenic Engineering Company. It operates well below its design efficiency and reclaims only about 75% of the test gas. This subsequently represents the limiting factor on tunnel run frequency due to the reclaimer's low throughput rates. To improve efficiency, increase reclaim percentage and increase run frequency, replacement of the reclaimer is required. A larger capacity reclamation system with features designed to reduce gas loss is required. The upgraded reclamation system shall meet the technical requirements contained in the attached specification. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in the CBD and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these cites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Interested offerors/vendors having the required specialized capabilities to meet the above requirement should submit a capability statement of 5 pages or less indicating the ability to perform all aspects of the effort described herein. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement.
